Everything you need to know about our tinctures and supplements, from first drop to daily ritual.
What is a tincture, and what's it made with?
A tincture is a concentrated liquid herbal extract. Herbs are steeped in a liquid that draws out their natural compounds, and you take a small amount by the dropper. Most of our tinctures use grain alcohol. Our Echinacea and Liquid Chlorophyll are alcohol-free and made with vegetable glycerin, which tastes mildly sweet. Each label lists exactly what's inside.
How do I take a tincture?
Follow the directions on your bottle. Most servings are 30 drops (1 ml), about one dropperful. You can place the drops under your tongue for about 30 seconds before swallowing, or stir them into water, tea, juice, a smoothie or a mocktail.
How long does a bottle last?
A 1 oz tincture holds 30 servings, about a month at one serving a day. Our 2 oz bottles last longer, and your label shows the exact number of servings. Capsules come 60 to a bottle, 30 servings at two capsules each.
Can I combine tinctures, or take them with medications?
Yes, many people combine tinctures to fit their routine. Some herbs can interact with medications, so if you take any prescription or over-the-counter medication, are pregnant or nursing, or have a health condition, please talk with your doctor or healthcare provider before use.
What do NSF + GMP certified mean?
Our tinctures and capsules are made in an NSF-certified facility that follows GMP, or Good Manufacturing Practices. In plain terms, every batch is made to set standards for cleanliness, consistency and quality, and those standards are checked by an independent organization.
How are these products tested?
Ingredients and finished products are tested by a third-party lab for identity and quality, including checks for heavy metals and microbes.
